Margetson 'stunned' by one year offer

Last season couldn't have ended any better for Martyn Margetson, he played out the season as City's no.1 and ended with a long awaited Welsh cap.

Now he's unsure of his future after it's reported today that Cardiff City have only offered him a one year contract. Conspiracy theorists claim that there could be a keeper merry go round at Ninian Park with Tony Warner of Millwall linked and talk that Neil Alexander could be looking to get away (even though he has himself said he wants to fight for his place).

It's a shame on Margetson that one of his most successful seasons ever is followed by such uncertainty.

The Echo have today run two stories on the subject with quotes from Martyn who now has a few days to weigh up City's offer or to look for more security with a move to Swansea who are said to be offering a three year contract.

Margetson has not returned to training today because the club have said he can have extra days because of his international achievements. He is though a free agent as his existing deal has now run out.

There is no official comment on this matter.
