Matthews linked to Man Utd

The 17 year old has been impressive in his first season making the right back place his own and getting into the senior Wales squad.

It doesn't taken too much imagination to view Matthews as the next Aaron Ramsey or Chris Gunter with the big clubs offering amounts that Cardiff just couldn't turn down.

Dave Jones though was dismissive of the rumours.

"I will not comment on speculation about my players. First it was Jay Bothroyd going to Aston Villa, then Peter Whittingham was off to Sunderland, now it's Adam being spoken about.

"All those players are still here."

Matthews is hoping to be fit to play against Ipswich on Sunday after missing last weeks defeat at Barnsley with an injury picked up while playing for Wales U21's.
