McCormack seeking Royal approval

Wayne Routledge will make his home debut tonight and City could be boosted by McCormack's return from a hamstring injury.

Dave Jones is waiting to see if Tom Heaton, Paul Parry and Kevin McNaughton recover from the knocks that saw all three subbed at Home Park. All three are rated 50/50.

He has McCormack and Bothroyd back in training and Riccy Scimeca was on the bench at Plymouth giving City a welcome increase in squad numbers.

Joe Ledley will definitely miss the match but he may be back for Sunday.

Reading manager Steve Coppell will yet again have an unchanged squad available for the trip to Cardiff.

Coppell has been loathe to change his side all season but after the uncharacteristic defeat at home to Southampton on Saturday may shuffle his pack.

Czech Republic midfielder Marek Matejovsky was a second-half substitute at the weekend and is pushing hard for his first start since the opening day of the season.

Matejovsky spent two months out with an ankle injury but could be handed a start in place of the more defensive Kalifa Cisse as Coppell searches for an instant return to form.

The Royals have no fresh injuries though captain Graeme Murty has now returned to full training after his calf injury but is a long way short of match fitness while centre-back Sam Sodje is out with a knee injury.

Striker Dave Mooney remains sidelined with his ankle injury but Michael Duberry is now fully fit.
