McPhail was sent off in injury time at later Rd by referee Jonathan Moss.
Prior to the result of the hearing Dave Jones said
"We've been training under the assumption that they are not going to turn it around.
"We've been working with the boy who we feel will take Stephen's position, but If the appeal is successful - as I believe it should be - then a couple of days' work will have been for nothing."
Jones can go back to his normal plans with McPhail in the team.
