City midfielder Steve Mcphail has been diagnosed with a stage one malt lymphoma, previously known as a pseudo lymphoma.

He is to undergo three weeks of treatment and the club are hopeful he can return to action early in the new year.

The club have requested that the privacy of the McPhail family is respected while he overcomes the illness.
