Riley was at Upton Park last weekend for West Ham v Charlton and this season has taken control of games at Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd in the Premiership.
Earlier in the season he officiated the Brazil v Wales friendly at White Hart Lane as well as a Euro 2008 qualifier and a Champiuons League qualifier.
His last City game was the 5 - 3 defeat at Sheff Utd in September 2003.
