Mourinho was sent to the stands during the match against Cardiff last weekend and speaking on Thursday he accepted the referee's report.

Mourinho has not been given a touchline ban.

“What the referee wrote is true,” said Mourinho. “I wasn’t aggressive, I wasn’t offensive, I just had a dis-agreement. What he writes is exactly what happened and exactly why I didn’t understand why I went to the stands. And it’s exactly why the punishment is just a fine. I accept the fine and against Manchester City I can work.”

A statement from the FA read: “Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has been fined £8,000 after he admitted a breach of FA Rule E3 in that his behaviour in or around the 69th minute of his side’s game against Cardiff City on Oct 19, 2013, amounted to improper conduct. The fine is the standard penalty for the offence.”
