New era at CCS as Mick McCarthy appointed manager

Just over 24 hours after dismissing Neil Harris the club announced Mick McCarthy as the new manager.

McCarthy has a wealth of experience including two Championship titles as well as taking the Republic of Ireland to the knock out stages of the 2002 World Cup.

His long time assistant Terry Connor also joins the club while James Rowberry and Andy Dibble will continue in their roles as first team coach and goalkeeping coach respectively.

His last job was a short stint in Cyprus with APOEL, it should have been a two year contract but he was sacked after two months.

His first game in charge of Cardiff will be at his hometwon club Barnsley on Wednesday.
