A deal worth £50,000 over the next two years to use the facilities has been agreed with the Vale of Glamorgan Hotel at Hensol just outside Cardiff.

Lennie Lawrence along with his coaching staff and several players inc Rob Earnshaw and Graham Kavanagh visted the complex yesterday to meet with Vale director Stephen Leeke and officially unveil the facilities as the new training area.

The main feature is the 3/4 size indoor pitch. It is incredibly realistic and of course weather is not a problem. The City squad will use the pitch as well as the shoolboys on City's books. It is hoped that providing the best facilities will help to attract the best youngsters and stop the exodus of talented kids to Premiership clubs further away.

City skipper Graham Kavanagh said

"It's brilliant, because the bounce here is so even and true it gives the players chance to improve their skills".

Lennie was equalled impressed saying

"It gives the kids facilities as impressive as any a Premiership club can offer them".

(Having played on the pitch myself I can vouch that it is a quality venue. MM)
