The 20 year old has been playing for Perth Glory in Australia but wants to play in Europe. t's reported he was linked to Blackburn but turned down a trial there.

"I heard about Cardiff while I was in Australia and one of my former coaches helped me set up a trial," Naglieri told the Echo after his reserve team appearance.

Naglieri was on the pitch at Plymouth 48 hours after arriving in the UK from Australia. He was played as a striker for 53 mins before being subbed. He is an attacking midfield normally so was played out of position.

"I'd love to spend more time with City and have the chance to show what I can do, but that's the manager's decision. I'm just happy to be here and pleased to get a game. If Cardiff offer me something that'd be fantastic, but if not I'll look for other opportunities, possibly in Italy."

Naglieri's father was born in Italy and he spent two years living there during his early teenage years.

City lost the reserve game 0 - 1.
