Newcastle champions. Plymouth relegated

Newcastle Utd are Championship champions and their victory at Home Park has relegated Plymouth Argyle.

Former City loan player Wayne Routledge scored one of their goals in a 2 - 0 victory.

So Newcastle and W.B.A. are promoted. Forest and Cardiff are guaranteed a play off place with Leicester, Swansea, Blackpool and (remotely) Reading looking to secure the final two places.

At the bottom of the table Peterborough and Plymouth are down. One of Sheff Weds, Crystal Palace, Watford or Scunthorpe will join them.

It's likely that the final day fixture between Sheff Weds and Palace will decide the last relegated side.

Cardiff will not be able to relegate The Owls on Saturday as Palace don't play until Monday night at home to already promoted West Brom.
