Ninian seats live on at Bangor

Bangor officials were soon on the phone to Cardiff and a deal was brokered between the two clubs. So it was that a few Bangor diehards drove down to Cardiff very early one morning and with an appeal to Cardiff-based Bangor fans for help, they arrived back in North Wales more than 12 hours later with a lorry full of seats.

Unfortunately Bangor's new stadium has been delayed due to the economic circumstances and problems with planning. In the meantime, the FAW announced that it was cutting the Premier League to just 12 teams and new licensing conditions would have to be met for admittance to the league. With no new stadium, Bangor have had no option but to make changes to the famous Farrar Road ground, and have installed the Bob Bank seats at their current home.

It felt strangely comforting to be able to sit in the Bob Bank once again for the match against Rhyl on Sunday, and it was good to see that a piece of Ninian Park lives on in Wales.
