No Boyd movement so City are looking elsewhere

City are reported to have placed a £2.5m bid into the Ibrox club for the services of the Scottish frontman.

No improved offer has been submitted and now the club are looking elsewhere for new firepower.

"The possibility of agreeing a deal for Kris is not dead but we are pursuing other targets at the moment," Ridsdale told the BBC.

"We have spoken to four clubs about players and we'll hopefully start bidding this week and maybe bring two new players to the club.

"We want to add the firepower that was missing last season and make a good push for promotion to the Premier League in our last season at Ninian Park.

"Dave showed a player of Champions League pedigree around the new stadium and our training facilities at the Vale of Glamorgan on Saturday and he was extremely impressed.

"That's how much this club has moved forward in the last 12 months.

"Last summer we were showing prospective signings around temporary training facilities and drawings of a new stadium.

"Then we were selling a dream but now we have something to show for it."
