No firm news on players yet

The Roger Johnson to Birmingham rumour is still around but it's thought the Blues want to pay a decent amount only if they stay in the Premier League for several years.

No gossip on Joe Ledley at all. Ross McCormack was linked to Wolves but the papers seem to be grasping at anonymous sources for quotes.

Dave Jones and Peter Ridsdale are both thought to be back from trip to America so now maybe we'll start to see some action ahead of the return to pre-season training in two weeks time.

Names that City are thought to be looking at include former target Kenny Cooper Scottish lad Dave Clarkson and Doncaster's Matt Mills. Ched Evans is the latest name in the press but incredibly it's a story based on the word IF.

The story starts "CARDIFF CITY will have to smash their club record transfer fee if they are to rekindle their bid for Welsh international striker Ched Evans"

It might as well have said "CARDIFF CITY will have to smash their club record transfer fee if they possibly wanted to maybe bid for Ronaldo"

News is that light on the ground that the papers are using pub gossip as back page headlines.

Again it's hearsay but Jones is said to be looking for upto 8 outfield players, (City have already brought in a keeper - David Marshall), but in order to buy Jones is going to have to sell.

Maybe the Sunday papers will have something interesting?
