C:WindowsTempphpF924.tmpIt as reported last weekend by the BBC that Cardiff City have completed the signing of central defender Juan Cala (right) from Sevilla.

It was said the 24 year old had terminated is contract with the Spanish club allowing him to move as a free agent.

Four days later and there has been no official confirmation of whether the move actually happened.

It's also been reported this week that Cardiff have agreed a deal to sign Valladolid striker Javi Guerra this coming summer.

Spanish paper Marca reported on their website

Javi Guerra will become a Cardiff City player from 30th June. The Valladolid forward's contract finishes on that date and he will sign for three years with the Welsh club according to Radio Marca.

Guerra's agent was quoted on skysports.com saying:

Pepe Mesas confirmed: "We have practically closed an agreement with a foreign club but this announcement does not rest with us."

But he insisted

"The player is totally committed to Valladolid until the last day of this season."

Guerra nearly moved to Cardiff on Jan 31st but he decided to stay in Spain. His comments add weight to the story that he could be set for a summer move to South Wales.

"January 31st was very long and busy day. I made the decision that I think was right. I'm remaining here until at least June to help in the fight.

"I had the opportunity to leave, because the offer was very serious for me and the club. But I wanted to support my teammates. Cardiff was willing to pay an amount of money was not easy to refuse. I hope people don't think I'm crazy. I do not regret the decision."

Again no official word on this matter. Although with a deal not due until the summer that's not surprising.
