NOTICE TO FANS

Every possible effort has been made to facilitate the safe arrival of Cardiff fans to Hillsborough.

Arrangements have been made with licensed premises at Rotherham to facilitate those who wish to can have a pre-match drink. This is on condition that staff, other customers and premises are treated with respect.

This offer of a pre-match drink is extended to that group of fans known as The Valley Rams and their various associate groups as discussed with their representatives on 25-10-06.

It is requested that coaches carrying supporters going to Rotherham attend at Junction 33 M1 between 1130-1200 hours on the day of the fixture. Officers from South Yorkshire Police will meet the coaches. Coaches will then be escorted to the town centre and passengers dropped off on Westgate and directed to the various pubs (as indicated on the maps provided). The coaches will be taken away and parked nearby.

The various pubs will to stop serving at 1345 hrs to facilitate fans returning to the coaches at the drop off point.

Coaches will be escorted to the ground from Rotherham in 2 convoys to stop congestion at the ground.

It is the responsibility of the coach operator to ensure that no alcohol is on board and if a search reveals alcohol is present then the coach may be turned round and escorted away and the driver/operator reported. This was discussed with club and fans representatives and it is expected that this will be strictly adhered to.

Fans will be dropped off outside the stadium and coaches parked away from the ground. At the conclusion of the game the coaches will be brought back to the stadium.

Sheffield Wednesday Football Club reserves the right to admission to the ground and anyone who in their opinion is too drunk will be refused entry. A copy of the ground regulations is attached.

There will be a short hold-back of Cardiff fans at the conclusion of the match of approximately 15 minutes, this will facilitate the safe egress of all fans from the ground. It will also ensure the minimum amount of disruption to traffic outside the stadium. Arrangements have been made with the club to allow the refreshments bars to be open during this hold-back period.

It is hoped that these arrangements will assist everyone in attending what we hope will be and enjoyable event.
