"One of our worst performances of the season. We weren't good enough in either penalty area.

"People may try to say we can't play at home because of the pressure, but you can't blame the crowd today. That would be nothing more than a red herring.

"Many things went against us and the referee's performance was uninspiring, but it was a below-par performance. The crowd were first class until we fell behind and there are no excuses. There is nobody to blame but ourselves.

"This was a poor performance, but it isn't terminal. We looked jaded, but we can still earn automatic promotion. We have five home games left and we cannot afford any more days like this. It is the last major wake-up call."

Billy Dearden (Notts County manager).
"We won 3-0 at Crewe and now 2-0 at Cardiff. I have to be happy with that.

"Cardiff did enough to have scored at least once, but we'll take a clean sheet because we defended well and our players were willing to put their bodies on the line. Steve Mildenhall was magnificent and this is a win to treasure."
