Pearson and Jones ahead of Foxes clash

After a stunning 3 - 0 home win over Forest last weekend Leicester went and lost at the struggling Owls.

"We must get back to the level of performance we were showing before the Sheffield Wednesday match," said Foxes boss Nigel Pearson.

"We recognise that wasn't one of our best performances and the result is an illustration of how difficult Championship football can be.

"Tomorrow's match against Cardiff City is a big match.

"There is talk of Peter Whittingham being available again and it's certain Cardiff will be extremely competitive," said Pearson.

"Cardiff have been free-scoring this year, but we have to make sure we take care of our own game first. We are at home and we have to take the initiative."

Dave Jones has assured supporters that the players are trying their hardest for the club and it's aim of a play off spot. He told the official website

"It is difficult for everybody at this club at the moment in time, but the one thing I can promise the fans is that we are trying our hardest to stay where we are and push on to deliver what everybody expects. Of course we believe we can be promoted - we are hanging in there and fighting for our lives.

"With everything that's going on around this place - and every day there seems to be something else that somebody has found or somebody is accusing this club of - that can be wearing on you, but on the football side it doesn't matter - there's always pressure. You just get on with it, and that's what we do.

"I can only look after the football side - that's my job and I do it to the best of my ability. Some people think I'm doing OK, some people think I'm not."

On the football side of things that Jones is in control of he revealed that Gaboy Gyepes, Kevin McNaughton and Adam Matthews are all carrying knocks.

Jones concluded by saying

"I hope the people who are supposedly going to invest in the football club do it and do it soon because that would be a massive boost to everybody.

"Then people can stop hammering the club, and we can try and move on. That's what the fans deserve. A lot of fans travelled on Tuesday night, they'll travel again tomorrow and again to Coventry on Tuesday.

"It's a tall order for them and we want to do our best for them. Sometimes it doesn't happen but it's not for the want of trying."
