Peter Whittingham shortlisted for two awards

whitts2Peter Whittingham has been shortlisted for two awards at the 'Football League Awards 2012'

Whittingham is on a shortlist of three for Championship Player of the Year along with Southampton pair Adam Lallana and Ricky Lambert.

These players have been voted for by the Football League club managers.

Whittingham is also in with a chance of goal of the year. His stunning goal against Barnsley last year at CCS is one of five on the shortlist.

Mitre Goal of the Year nominees are:

Peter Whittingham (v Barnsley) Cardiff City 
Darren Ambrose (v Manchester United) Crystal Palace 
Peter Leven (v Port Vale) Oxford United 
Kári Árnason (v Milton Keynes Dons) Plymouth Argyle 
Paul Coutts (v Colchester United) Preston North End


The winners are being announced at a gala ceremony at The Brewery, London on Sunday 11 March 2012.

Cardiff City are also nominated in two categories.

The club are challenging for Family Club of the Year and Best Marketing Campaign.
