Chis Willock will not be fit to return for Cardiff City until after the November international break.

The 27-year-old winger has been absent from Cardiff's past two matches with a thigh injury.

He is now set to miss Saturday's FA Cup tie to Peterborough, a league trip to Blackpool on 8 November and the EFL Trophy game against Arsenal Under-21s.

But Cardiff head coach Brian Barry-Murphy is relieved Willock is not facing a longer lay-off.

"It's pretty positive news," he said.

"We're looking at after the international break for Chris."

Meanwhile, Cardiff striker Callum Robinson is a doubt for the first-round tie against fellow League One side Peterborough.

"Callum rocked his ankle in training on Monday and wasn't fit on Tuesday morning," said Barry-Murphy.

"He'll be assessed but at this point he's a doubt for Saturday. We have a few doubts for this game based on the week we've had."

BB-M on Peterborough:

"We are trying to prepare today and tomorrow to give ourselves a chance of winning the game.

"Peterborough have brought in Luke Williams so it's more important than ever to focus on ourselves

"I have a real awareness of what Luke has done before and what his teams have done in the past and his style of play.

"I'm sure he will have a really big impact straight away and that the players will want to play for him. New managers coming in, the impact can be instant.

“I think we’re improving all the time," Brian added. "There’s obviously inconsistencies in our performance, which is very natural and normal when a new team is forming.

"We’re progressing; the challenge for us is to be consistent more and more, and try to reflect that in our performances.

"That is the intention throughout the season, but the players have shown that they’re willing to be really focused on that and I’m sure if we can do that, we’ll be fine."
