PFA involved over 'severance pay'

It's thought along with sorting out the payments owed to clubs for players purchased last year, namely Mark Hudson from Charlton, and the always ongoing tax bills - until one months final pay is made to Tony Capaldi, Aaron Morris, Warren Feeney, Riccy Scimeca, Peter Enckelman and, most recently, Mark Kennedy, the embargo will stay in place.

"We are aware of the issues at Cardiff City Football Club and we will offer guidance, assistance and legal representation to all our members," a PFA spokesman told the Echo.

The club paid the current staff on time before the end of July and say they are currently paying bonuses to players present and recently past.

Chief Executive Gethin Jenkins said on Saturday: "We have ensured the players and staff have been paid on time as we are committed to do.

"As from now a large majority of scheduled bonus payments have been paid and the reminder will be completed in the early part of next week.

"That includes players who have moved on from the club."
