Following on from the report on Wednesday, the planners approved Cardiff City's application to lay 15 new training pitches in the Vale.

Reporter Matt Discombe followed up his previous report saying on Thursday

"Cardiff City has been given the go-ahead to begin work on a new training ground.

The Bluebirds have today (July 26) been given permission to lay 15 pitches on land south-west of Junction 34 of the M4.

A two-storey training centre, including a gym, pool, treatment rooms and dining rooms, is also planned, but is subject of a separate planning application yet to be approved.

The training ground would cover a 44 acre area of agricultural land, owned by Vale of Glamorgan Council, opposite Hensol Villas."
