For several of the players though there is potential international action.

Neil Alexander is with the senior Scottish squad for Wednesday's game with Switzerland while Rhys Weston, Joe Ledley and Jason Koumas are with Wales as they face Paraguay at the Millennium Stadium. Weston has just been called in to replace the injured Mark Delaney.

At U21 level Cameron Jerome is with England as they face Norway in Reading on Tuesday evening.

City have two lads with Wales U21 as they play Northern Ireland at Llanelli on Tuesday afternoon. Joe Jacobsen and Jamal Easter are the City youngsters involved. Jamal has replaced Curtis McDonald who has pulled out of the squad.

Neil Alexander thinks it could be now or never for getting his first cap

"If I can't get a game now for Scotland I don't think I ever will because I'm in the best form now I've been for the last six or seven years," he told the Western Mail.

"I'm really happy with the way things are going, so if I don't get a game now there's not much hope for me in the future."

"I'm looking forward to the game and, if I get on, it'll be an added bonus. I feel I'm in great form at the minute so hopefully, if I do get on, I can do myself justice.
