Portsmouth in for McCormack

Pompey have just sold Peter Crouch to Spurs and have their eye on a couple of strikers including McCormack.

Sky Sports carried Portsmouth's interest as breaking news yesterday and it's been covered in the mainstream press as well.

McCormack has made it clear he doesn't want to play second fiddle to Michael Chopra at City and is looking for a move to secure first team football which will help him to keep his place in the Scotland squad.

There is talk of a £3.5 bid plus add ons from Portsmouth. It's a deal City cannot turn down.

Personally I think Ross need to prove himself at Championship level this coming season and not expect to run before he can walk. Pompey are a club in danger and Ross might find himself struggling in a struggling side. The extra wages wil be nice initially but his future career may take a backwards step if he's not playing and scoring right from the start.

I think the lads agent has a lot to do with this and he's placing the player at risk of being labelled a moaner and a disruption. None of those things will help his future development.
