"It was a good result for both sides.

"We restricted Cardiff to very few chances and it would have been a smash-and-grab if we had won. We need to show more composure but I am very happy with the clean sheet.

"It was a tight game on a good pitch and we worked hard for our point. You have to quieten the crowd at Cardiff and I think we achieved that but there is a long way to go in the season and we need more quality in the final third."

Richard Langley

"Wigan are the toughest team physically we have come up against this season.

"The manager told us to move the ball quickly and sharply, but we failed to do that enough in the first half, though we improved after the interval.

"We are happy with a point after suffering those three straight defeats recently.

"Wigan are a solid unit and we knew what to expect after most of us had played them last year. With the teams we have played so far, we are confident there is nothing to fear in this division."

Lennie Lawrence

"All you need is one touch inside their area and you can be in on goal but unfortunately it never happened.

"I am very happy however that our defence has now settled down and two clean sheets in our last two games is a big improvement."
