President's Select XI v City. Preview

Last updated : 17 July 2009 By Michael Morris
The President's Select side are made up of players without clubs so they have something to prove.

Dave Jones can again use the game to mould his squad towards the new season. Players who played the full 90 mins against Fatima maybe have smaller roles this time. Some others may get more playing time after several subs were made at half time in Wednesday's game.

The match kicks off at 11am in Setubal region of Lisbon.

Jones has said that he'll look at Kevin McNaughton at left back. Paul Quinn has signed for City from Motherwell and he is a right back, McNaughton has proved his versatility before so Jones wants to check him out at left back. (Personally I think he's the best right back we've have for a long long time and I hope we don't lose anything with playing him out of position).

"It's going to be a difficult test for the lads and I want a look at Kevin McNaughton playing left-back," Jones told the Echo.

"We'll see how that goes and it will give us another option."

"We will probably give other players the longer spells out there tomorrow.

"This trip is all about building team spirit and camaraderie plus conditioning for all players."
