Prior apologises for slack marking

Spencer told the Echo

"It was garbage and I was bloody useless".

Prior was out jumped twice by Barnsley defender Chris Morgan who celebrated his birthday with two goals that came gift wrapped from City's experienced defender.

"I was bloody useless, I've apologised to all the boys and hopefully that is that, and it won't happen again. We did so well to get back into the game, but to concede three goals from three set-pieces is very disappointing indeed. It really was a bad day at the office and now I will do everything I can to make sure that it's the last bad day we have.

"I'll take the blame for Morgan's two goals because he was my responsibility, the guy I should have been marking.

"But we must also look at not conceding free-kicks which allow the opposition the opportunity to put the ball into the box.

"That said, there are no excuses. I was poor and it's got to be put right next week."

It takes a strong man to admit his mistakes. Let's hope it was a one off bad performace. Spencer had to apologise to the City fans at Bury last season after a poor team performace, once a season is enough.
