Purse stringing City along?

Last night the WBA defender watched Southampton play a pre season friendly at Yeovil yesterday and so must still consider a move to Southampton a possibility.

"I would still like to get Darren Purse," Harry Redknapp told Southampton's official website

"He was at the game last night but Cardiff have made him a very good offer and he has to think about what he wants to do. I would like him to come here. He is a good competitor and we need that at the back."

Purse and his agent have been openly saying they are very impressed with Cardiff and it's most likely he'll come here but the club and fans alike are waiting for him to arrive and sign. Until then we have to just wait.

Purse would slot into Cardiff's back four alongside Neil Cox with Glenn Loovens pushing foir their places. Should Purse not come then Loovens could find himself in the starting line up at Ipswich.
