Purse: We are ahead of target

Last updated : 31 October 2006 By Michael Morris

'The magic figure to get promoted is 92 points,' Purse told the Echo.

'That averages out at two points every game.

'And although people have already started saying that the wheels have come off and the bubble has burst after the last two games, we're still ahead of our target.'

City have picked up 1 point from the last two games and now face two tough away trips. Sunderland tonight and Colchester on Saturday.

'It's all swings and roundabouts at this stage but we are above our target and we know what we are doing,' added Purse.

'We will go out to try and win tonight and even if we get a point it should be regarded as a good result.'

City are still 4 points ahead at the top of the table going into tonights match, depending on how things go we could be 7 points or just one point ahead by 10pm tonight. It's still too early to celebrate promotin or to write us off but Purse is looking ahead to November as a month where points could be forthcoming.

'You already start to have one eye on November and although there are no easy games in this division, the November list are all winnable.'
