Purse. We are playing for pride.

Story from the Western Mail.

Purse and his men were left shell-shocked following Easter Monday's 2-0 defeat at Burnley, a result which leaves them 10th in the Championship, five points off Preston, who are currently sixth in that all-important final play-off place.

The City skipper, who spent a frustrating 10 weeks out with injury before returning for the Easter fixtures, said although promotion was still mathematically possible it was going to be extremely tough for Cardiff to make it now.

"All we can concentrate on now is winning our next four games, but we're well out of it, I think," said 30-year-old Purse bluntly.

"It's going to be tough, but all we can do is try to go out on a bit of a high. The last thing we want to do is go out there and lose our next four games after the recent defeats we've had.
