QPR promoted, Scunny and Blades are relegated

No one knows yet what the outcome of the QPR hearing will be this week so for now the West London side have won promotion and the title. They picked up a 2 nil win at Watford and have secured top spot in the Championship.

At the bottom of the table defeat for Scunthorpe and a draw for Sheff Utd sees both sides relegated to League One along with Preston.

The first game of the day saw Leeds beat Burnley 1 - 0. The win gave Leeds hope for the play offs and all but ended Burnley's hopes. When Forest beat Scunthorpe 5 - 1 a bit later they virtually claimed the final play off place. The victory at The City Ground ended any hope Burnley had and now only Leeds can catch Forest but they would have to win at QPR on the final day and hope Forest lose at Palace while seeing a six goal turnaround.

So at the top we have QPR - Promototed as Champions

Norwich / Cardiff to finish second

Swansea / Reading / Forest (or outsiders Leeds) in the play offs.

Cardiff, if they fail to make automatic will finish no lower than 4th so if it is to be the play offs again City will be away in the first leg and at home in the second. Also thay cannot face Swansea in the play off semi finals. The only chance the teams could meet would be at Wembley.

Hopefully though Cardiff will be spared the play off lottery and earn themselves automatic promotion.
