Rae delighted with seasons start

He's already halfway towards his best ever Cardiff City haul of four goals in his first season here.

"Everybody played their part. Over the 90 minutes, it was a very good performance," Rae told the Echo.

"Personally, I was delighted to score a second goal this season. I still want to chip in a few more and I'll keep working to do that."

Scotsman Rae paid tribute to the other players who helped create the chances. Burke had an assist in the opening goal before setting up the 2nd and third with defence splitting passes.

"Everything went right and that comes from hard work on our shape," continued Rae. "That gives us a good base to work from and with players like Burke, Whitts, Chops and more able to create things.

"It could have been more than 3-0. It's also important to keep a clean sheet. We were delighted with that.

"Nobody is getting carried away, but we'd much rather be top than anywhere else.

"Apart from a below-par display at Blackpool we've done well as a team and this was the best yet."
