Rams decide to stop running coaches

A meeting was held on Thursday night where it was decided that the Rams would stop running coaches to away games because of the restrictions put in place.

"A very well attended meeting decided to vote against running coaches to away games," said Paul Corkery. "They (the Rams) will continue to support the football club in other ways but will no longer be responsible for away travel."

Hundreds of fans each away game use the coaches organised throughout the Valleys and Cardiff to get to away matches.

This season so far has seen a bubble* trip to Leeds, a voucher** trip to Hull, Spurs and last weekend to Coventry. Next Tuesday's match at W.B.A. is also a voucher game and it's likely the trip to St Andrews next month will be a full bubble game. Then comes a match in Southampton which could as easily be affected in someway. Not forgetting of course the total ban at Wolves.

* A bubble game means all fans must travel on organised coaches. No independent travel.

** A voucher trip means that supporters can only buy a travel voucher which must be exchanged at a motorway services for a match ticket prior to arrival at the away ground.

Now the Rams are fed up of having such restrictions when it appears that fans from other clubs face few if any restrictions on travel.

The absence of Rams busses is sure to have a bearing on the crowd numbers that go away.
