Real Madrid re-union update

Last updated : 20 March 2006 By Michael Morris
A dinner in Cardiff was attended last Friday by 440 people and the City team that beat Madrid was there with a couple of extra players also from that season.

It is hoped that when all the costs are settled and the auction monies are claimed there will be over £3,000 raised in memory of Ronnie Bird with the money be donated to Leukemia Research.

Organiser Paul Doubler has some collectables available. Paul told me

"We have produced a special DVD with many highlights of that special season, including some Ronnie Bird Thunderbolts and some Alan Warboys goals. We are offering this together with the very special 12 page souvenir brochure (which tells the story of that season with pictures and stats etc an even have them signed at no further cost by four of the legends' (Don Murray, skipper Gary Bell, Bobby Woodruff and goal scorer Brian Clark) at the post paid price of £15. All proceeds will again go to Leukemia Resarch.
