Redknapp denies Gabbidon interest

Harry Redknapp has dismissed weekend newspaper reports that he's about to swoop for Danial Gabbidon in the January transfer window.

''I don't have £3.5 million to spend on a centre half,'' Redknapp told skysports.com.

''This is the first I've heard of it. I've certainly not made any kind of approach. Danny's a good player but we don't have that type of money available.''

Gabbidon is also linked with a move to Blackburn to join former Wales boss Mark Hughes.

Redknapp meanwhile continued by saying that Gary O'Neil was here on loan only and he still has a future on the South coast.

Would O'Neil be allowed to move?

''No chance. He's there (at Cardiff) on loan and that is definitely all it is.

''I still think Gary has a massive future at this club and he will come back. It's a loan move and that's it.''

Cardiff play Pompey a week tonight in the last 16 of the Carling Cup at Ninian Park.
