Rhondda Assembly Member Leighton Andrews, a Cardiff City season-ticket-holder, has welcomed the decision of the Welsh Assembly Government
to back Cardiff City's application for a new stadium.

Mr Andrews said "Thousands of Valleys Cardiff City fans will welcome this decision. Cardiff City's hopes of playing in the Premiership will be boosted by this decision. A Premiership club in our capital city will boost the economy of the region. It's good that the Assembly has focused on the big picture. Cardiff City
Football Club is one of the few positive links between the capital and the Valleys and this will strengthen those links."
