Back in the starting line up
With Cameron Jerome suspended, and Kevin Cooper and Andrea Ferretti injured Dave Jones is light on squad players to take to Preston. Willie Boland Phil Mulryne are amongst the 16 players travelling.

Alan Lee and Michael Ricketts will lead the attack with Paul Parry replacing Kevin Cooper. The good news is that Jason Koumas and Joe Ledley are fit after missing the Welsh trip to Cyprus.

City should line up

Alexander, Weston, Purse, Loovens, Barker, Koumas, Whitley, Ledley, Parry, Lee, Ricketts.

Subs. Margetson, Boland, Mulryne, Ardley and Cox.

In fact City's squad is so stretched that Neil Cox is having to delay a shoulder procedure to allow Dave Jones to try and draft in another defender before the loan window shuts on November 28th.

'Coxy needs to have something done,' Jones told the Echo.

'But at the moment because we are running with small numbers I have spoken to Coxy and he is happy to leave it until I can get someone in.

'But I have only got until November 27-28 to get someone in because then the window closes and it doesn't open again until January.'

According toe the BBC Preston's Adam Nowland (groin), Brian O'Neil (thigh), Lewis Neal (knee) and Dave Jones (dead leg) have all overcome injuries and could be in contention.

Strikers David Nugent (illness) and Danny Dichio (back) are also available.
