Ridsdale confident of Robbie deal

There appears less chance of seeing Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink in a City shirt again.

Fowler has been offered a deal which he's thinking over while no such offer has been made to Jummy.

Ridsdale said: "Robbie's been offered a new contract and I'm waiting to hear whether or not it's been accepted in its current format.

"I've not offered Jimmy a new contract. A lot depends on whether we succeed with other striking targets."

City are also one by one sorting out the contracts with existing players. As previously reeported Peter Whittingham has agreed a new deal as Ridsdale confirms.

"Peter Whittingham's agreed the contract. We just have to get it typed up and he's going to come in when he reports back next week to sign it.

"Roger Johnson is pretty close. Peter Enckelman's going to sign a new deal for two years next week as well so we are ticking them off one by one.

"There are two or three other players we've made offers to that are not yet concluded, but I would expect that by the end of next week those should have been put to bed and we'll have to take a view on anyone who says they don't want to stay with us."
