Ridsdale hoping to keep best players

All three have been the subject of transfer speculation and with Joe Ledley and Paul Parry two of our most consistent performers at the moment it was be a shame to see them leave Ninian Park.

Ramsey put in a man of the match performance at Chasetown earlier this month and is most definately one for the future. Let's hope his future is here in Cardiff.

So far we have seen Chris Gunter go to Spurs, Jason Byrne to Bohemians in Dublin and suprisingly Steve MacLean to Plymouth. The Pilgrims were also linked with a move for Steve Thompson. Kasper Schmeichel also left but that was because his loan spell run out.

City could do with a player or two to strengthen the squad. We have just three fit centre forwards available, and that's classing Paul Parry as a centre forward.

"It is getting towards the end of January and, in my experience, a lot of things can happen in the last few days ... so watch this space," said Peter Ridsdale. "There may be players coming in and some going out, you never know.

"Obviously we are very happy with the squad we have got at the moment, but, if there is an option to strengthen the squad, then we will have a look at it.

"We are hoping to hang on to our best players, we want those who are in the starting XI at the moment to be there come the start of February, when the window shuts.

"We have got a great squad here," Ridsdale continued. " As we have shown in recent times, so getting rid of our talented players is not what we want to do.

"If someone comes in for the players that can't get into the first-team squad then we will listen, as we did with Steve MacLean last week, but you never know if someone is going to come in for them or not."
