Ridsdale would question European block

With Cardiff a member of the FAW there is no way the English FA would nominate them for a Uefa Cup place.

The FAW will not allow Cardiff a chance to represent it in European competition as they play in the English system, leaving Cardiff and the other Welsh clubs who play in the English pyramid, no way of competing in Europe.

I would like to see them earn their place in a European competition but at the moment all avenues are closed. I wouldn't want them to be given an easy ride into the Uefa Cup (via a Welsh League backdoor) but to qualify by winning a major trophy should be rewarded.

Peter Ridsdale said, "If we win the final and are then not put forward to the Uefa Cup I am sure there will be a lot of people with something to say."

The "old chestnut" of Cardiff being able to qualify for Europe pops up now and again. Should we find ourselves locked out in May after a major achievement then I'm sure the subject will come to the fore again.
