Robinson, Oster, Kitson and Jones all linked

The same names that have been linked over last few weeks / months are still cropping up.

Charlton's John Robinson has openly told Cardiff he would be very interested to come to Ninian Park. Now that we are a first division team he'll be even keener.

John Oster has been mentioned in relation to a City move and again with the Bluebirds in Division 1 the welsh international could be interested. Mick McCarthy, Osters current boss at Sunderland is keen to keep him at the Stadium of Light.

Oster was on loan at Grimsby last season before being recalled by Sunderland. He costs the Black Cats £1m when they bought him from Everton.

Oster played in Wales' 2 - 0 defeat in the USA in the early hours of this morning. He was booked in that game.

Leicester City's Matt Jones went one further than Oster and was sent off in the Wales game for 2 yellow cards. Jones has been released by Leicester and was immediately linked to a Ninian move.

Another player is Cambridge Utd's Dave Kitson. The young striker scored 25 goals for Cambridge last season and is one of the lower division's hot prospects. Cambridge boss John Taylor, a friend of Lennies would not deny claims that Cardiff have made two offers for the player

"Cardiff are going to strengthen up, we know that, and if you are a manager in that position you are going to have looked closely at all the top players in the lower divisions. Cardiff have a good forward line, but they are going up in class and will need to add to it. I can't really make any comment about any stories concerning them and Kits, and there's nothing to really say about it at the moment."

Andy Melville, another name linked during last season is likely to stay at Fulham now that Chris Coleman is the manager. Melville was close to a City move but several factors kept him at Loftus Rd.

There could be an announcement from Ninian Park today as to which players are being released. Lennie is seeing each player one by one to discuss their futures.

Andy Legg, Steve Jenkins and Gareth Ainsworth are hoping for new contracts while there could be bad news for the likes of Leo FW, Andrew Jordan, Gethin Jones and Martyn Giles who all all out of contract and players could be released from their contracts with Layton Maxwell, Des Hamilton and possibly even Jason Bowen being let go.

At the moment it's guesswork. More later.
