Robson not ruling out Koumas return to Hawthorns

Relegated Baggie's manager Bryan Robson hopes that Jason Koumas could become a big asset for WBA if he returns to the West Midlands.

Koumas has spoken in the past about never playing for WBA again but until Cardiff or anyone else signs him on a permanent contract he is still a WBA player.

Speaking after his team dropped from the top flight Robson said of Koumas

"Jason was sent to Cardiff in the hope that he would mature as a player and as a person. Dave Jones knows our valuation of him. That hasn't changed but if they are not prepared to meet it he will return to us.

"We hope that if Jason does come back we will see him accept responsibility, on and off the pitch. If that has happened, then I am confident that we will have a big asset on our hands for next season."

Dave Jones is hoping to sort the matter out this week. Koumas has been one of the best midfielders in the division this season and it would be a huge blow if City miss out on the chance to sign him permanently.

Speaking last week Koumas said

'If Dave Jones is Cardiff City manager for the next few years then I want to be here as well.

'I'd love to play for Cardiff again in 2006-2007. All I am asking is assurances that Dave Jones stays in charge and he is given backing to bring in the players he wants.

'He is like me and wants to perform in the Premiership. Why can't we both do that with Cardiff City? That would be a dream for me.'
