Robson: 'We will take the money for Koumas'

There's been a lot of unsubstantiated speculation this week regarding Jason Koumas. Unconfirmed and possibly unfounded rumours linked Leeds Utd to City's star midfielder. As the week wore on Wolves and Crystal Palace's names were added to the list of admirers.

Now as the week draws to a close WBA boss Bryan Robson has confirmed he has no desire to bring Koumas back to the West Midlands by saying

"There has always been a price there to be paid regarding Jason and, if anyone wants to pay it, we will take the money.

"Have Cardiff or anyone made an offer? I'm not really sure. You'd have to ask our chairman Jeremy Peace."

Sam Hammam thinks we will keep Koumas until the end of our season long loan (The deal is Koumas could leave in January if the right offer is made to WBA for him. That could come from Cardiff or any other club).

Hammam told the Echo his thinking as to why Jason will stay with us:

1: Koumas won't be going to another Coca-Cola Championship club.

2: West Brom won't let Koumas join any of their relegation battle rivals.

3: It is unlikely any of the top clubs, like Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United or Liverpool, will move in for him.

4: Koumas is happy at Cardiff City, has said he is happy with the Bluebirds and manager Dave Jones brings the best out of him.

Robert Earnshaw is not happy under Bryan Robson. City's record breaking centre forward has put in a transfer request. Earnie is unhappy at his lack of first team action despite being WBA's top scorer last season.

His request was rejected by Robson

"Earnie has handed in a transfer request and I've turned it down. All of my strikers have an important role to play this season." said the Baggie's boss.

Earnie finds himself around 6th choice at WBA but with African Nations Cup matches coming up Robson could lose Kanu and Kamara and does not want to find himself short on strikers.
