Rotherham v Cardiff. Match preview

Last updated : 19 September 2015 By Michael Morris

Cardiff face bottom of the table and winless Rotherham today at New York Stadium in South Yorkshire.

The Millers are the whipping boys of the division so far with two draws and five defeats from their seven games, although they were only narrowly beaten 2 - 1 at leaders Brighton in midweek.

Early team news:

C:WindowsTempphp8F86.tmpRotherham will be without skipper Lee Frecklington when they chase their first win of the season against Cardiff.

The midfielder suffered a calf injury in last Saturday's 1-1 draw at Charlton and he remains on the sidelines after missing Tuesday's 2-1 defeat at Brighton.

Boss Steve Evans is likely to make changes following that loss on the south coast, with top scorer Jonson Clarke-Harris set to start in attack, with Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe switching to the left in place of Aidy White.

Defender Kirk Broadfoot serves the final game of his 10-match suspension as the Millers look to put their first league win on the board since the end of April.

Bruno Manga is pushing for his first Championship start of the season for Cardiff.

The Gabon central defender, Cardiff's player of the year last season, missed the start of the campaign with a knee injury but came off the bench against Hull in midweek with Matthew Connolly feeling unwell at half-time.

Loan signing Sammy Ameobi (pictured), who has yet to start a league game since joining on loan from Newcastle, could also feature as Cardiff seek to bounce back from their first league defeat of the season.

Left-back Fabio is expected to play despite suffering a head wound against Hull but Ben Turner (ankle) and Federico Macheda (back) remain sidelined.
