Sam asks for patience

Sam Hammam is unlikely to allow any big money signings until the new stadium gets the go ahead. Speaking to the Echo yesterday he said that he will invest further but not just yet

"I can see the light at the end of the tunnel on this already, but I can't quite make out the end of the tunnel. Once that is in sight and I am encouraged everything is going forward. We will really press on. I will then be more aggressive on squad strengthening. There are a lot of players I could get, but we are waiting and I would ask for patience"

Lennie Lawrence is looking for three players to come in before the start of the new season and they will add quality to the already strong squad.

Hammam goes on

"We have a powerful side already. Just look at our forward line with Peter Thorne, Robert Earnshaw and Andy Campbell plus Leo Fortune-West and Gavin Gordon, who hasn't had the chance to show his best for the club yet. This is an exciting Cardiff City squad and anybody coming in has to be superb. Otherwise, how will he get into the team?"

Lennie returns to wotk next week and the players return to training next Wednesday. Lennie is sure to press on in his efforts to sign the two left sided players and the goalkeeper he is looking for.
