Same line up again? Preston preview

Last updated : 15 April 2005 By Michael Morris
Preston have won 13 home games from 21 played this season. 6 have been draws with only two defeats. Those stats alone spell out a tough trip for City.

Cardiff are not the worse travellers in the division, that honour goes to Forest and Gillingham but with only three wins on the road City are expected to be second best tomorrow. Forest lost at Deepdale last Autumn while Gillingham nicked a 90th minute equaliser a few weeeks ago.

City could stay unchanged or maybe Willie Boland could come back into the midfield. He came through 70 mins of reserve action at Plymouth this week. Will Tony Vidmar play? He is set for a move back to Holland to play for NAC Breda. Will Darren Williams move up from the bench?

City probable

Alexander, Vidmar, Gabbidon, Collins, Barker, Ardley, Langley, Ledley, McAnuff, Thorne, Jerome.

Subs from Margetson, Williams, Bullock, Boland, Lee, Boulding, Campbell, Fleetwood, Parry.

Preston have injury worries over Brian O'Neil and Chris Sedgwick, both failed to complete training on Thursday and are rated at 50 / 50.

Preston last lined up

Nash, Alexander, Davidson, Lucketti, McKenna, Mawene, Sedgwick, O'Neil, Lewis, Nugent, Cresswell.

Lennie is looking for his City team to give Preston agame tomorrow,

"We hope to prove there isn't much between Preston and ourselves. We are capable of matching them. Preston have a pair of strikers who have 37 goals between them this season.

"That's the only difference."

It's a big difference Lennie, the City boss is also confident his team will avoid the drop

"Will we stay up? Of course. There is no doubt about that at Ninian Park."

With Forest, Crewe, Brighton and Watford also away from home tomorrow there could be a chance for one team to make a sure fire stride to safety if they can get an important away win. Let's hope it's Cardiff.
