Scunthorpe v Cardiff City

Last updated : 18 April 2008 By Michael Morris

The teenage defender/midfielder, on loan from Chelsea, has missed the last three matches following his dismissal in the recent home defeat to Ipswich.

But Izzy Iriekpen is doubtful with an ankle injury and will undergo a late fitness test. On-loan Liverpool defender Jack Hobbs is on stand-by.

Midfielder Jim Goodwin is also a doubt. The Irishman has not trained all week due to a calf injury, which he has struggled with for several weeks.

Manager Nigel Adkins could be tempted to give some fringe players a run out.

Adkins has no other new injury or suspension problems as his relegated side look to secure their first league win in seven matches.

Cardiff boss Dave Jones has no new injury worries to contend with as the FA Cup finalists visit to Glanford Park.

Veteran striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has been struggling with a throat infection but he should be available after training all week.

Fellow frontman Robbie Fowler is still making progress in his recovery from a hip injury but will not be available.

Jones is also still without Paul Parry and Warren Feeney, who are struggling to recover from leg muscle damage.

Glenn Loovens will be hoping to be recalled alongside Roger Johnson in defence after he was left on the bench for last weekend's 3-1 win over Blackpool.
