Slade after two more players

Russell Slade has said he would like two more players added to his squad before the transfer window closes on September 1st.

City have been extremely quiet this window with Sammy Ameobi the only player coming into the first team this summer. Two other players, Semi Ajayi and Jordan Blaise have also come in but Blaise has gone straight into the Development squad. Ajayi played for the Development side last season when he was here on loan.

Several players have left, many on loan and more could follow. Two that need to stay though are David Marshall and Kenwyne Jones. It's no secret that WBA are courting Marshall while Sheff Weds have been linked this week with a move for Jones.

"West Brom initially came in and tried to pinch him [Marshall] on the cheap. That is not going to happen. I am not pointing at West Brom, but it is not going to happen."

Slade continued there had been "a little interest" in unsettled Spanish striker Javi Guerra.

But triallist Romanian defender Gabriel Tamas was not at the club on Friday, having trained with the squad on Thursday.

"Gabriel had a day with us and that is the start and finish of it.

"He's not in today he just had a day with us yesterday. We'll see, we've got a couple of options so we shall see.

"I would like two more players in. I'm confident we can obtain that and optimistic we can get the right ones. I have ideas of positions I need, but things could go to the wire in the end."
