Leeds showed an interest ater news broke that Smith could be loaned out to Cardiff City but now the player has opted to remain at Man Utd his agent has quoshed any idea he might have been going to Leeds. Alex Ferguson had allowed Cardiff to speak to the player and would have sent him to Ninian Park on loan if Smith had agreed.
"He won't be going anywhere," explained Black. "The club has put in place a special training regime for him.
"He wants to stay at Manchester United and he has talked things though with the club and Sir Alex Ferguson.
"There was never even permission granted from United for him to talk to Leeds."
