The 1998-1999 Frank Burrows promotion winning side carried the logo of the Sports Cafe on their shirts (below) which at the time was located by Techniquest in Cardiff Bay.
The following season Cardiff were relegated and after a while the Sports Cafe closed down.
Now more than a decade on Cardiff has a new Sports Cafe. The restaurant has opened by the Motorpoint Arena (CIA). It has risen from the ashes of Hooters, the slightly raunchy and 'upfront' American chain.
It appears though that Hooters has just been augmented into the Sports Cafe as the image (right) shows. New name, ironically new blue t shirts and with similarly dressed attractive waitresses.
